The International Labour Organisation, ILO, has launched a worldwide campaign to put pressure on governments to ratify the Protocol voted last year.
50 for Freedom is a campaign to mobilise citizens to put pressure on their respective government to ratify the ILO Protocol to the Forced Labour Convention. Issued in 2014, this Protocol sets the best practice standards for tackling modern slavery.
From prevention to remedies, the protocol is a very useful framework for countries to mobilise the best way possible to end slavery.
Niger and Norway have already ratified it, followed soon by others. Make sure you encourage your government to participate, check the #50forFreedom now to make a stand to end modern slavery.
